I'm a owner operator truck driver. On 4-11-22, I was in Indiana and lost power to my steering wheel, also the truck stop running. I had the truck towed to the merchant that evening and on 4-12-23 Michael McGahey, the owner informed me that the steering wheel power pump needed to be replace as well as the fuel pump because they were connected together. The Job wes completed on 4-/14/22. On 6/15/22 61 days , the truck did the same thing in Lansing Michigan. I lost power to the steering wheel and the truck shut off once I was able to get off the interstate on an off ramp because I was trying to make it to a truck stop but it shut off. I notified Michael McGahey that day around 16:00 and informed him of the problem. So I had the truck towed to Michigan Cat in Lansing Michigan which is certified through national truck protection which I have. They perform a diagnostic report on the truck because I informed them that the power steering pump and fuel pump was just replaced in April. So of course they wanted to know why the system would fail so quickly because that was unusual. According to the diagnostic report, that it was excessive metal in the gear box, fuel pump, power steering pump, and the filters was not charged, it had too be flushed out, which the merchant failed too due, and it's not on my invoice I also spoke with a Kenworth dealer and they informed me that the system has too be flushed or you would have the same problem again. The manufacturer will not cover warranty Resolution Sought I want the merchant to refund all my money back. He's telling me to ship back the parts so the can honor the warranty, however, Michigan Cat said that due to him failing to perform the job correctly, and by not flushing out the system, which they will put in their report and clearly stated that this was a mechanic error, that they would not honor the warranty. The system failed again because Big Rig Repair did not do the job correctly.
