I am writing to formally bring to your attention a deeply concerning matter regarding my recent car purchase, a 2016 X5, from BMW of Cape Cod on May 27, 2023. On October 1st, I experienced a hazardous car malfunction while driving on the highway, prompting an immediate examination by a BMW service center in Owings Mills, Maryland, on October 2nd. Shockingly, the BMW technician's diagnosis revealed a critical engine malfunction attributed to a significant crack in the engine. This malfunction was described as a violent mechanical failure, casting serious doubt on the condition of the vehicle at the time of purchase from your dealership only 4 months ago. It is disheartening to consider that crucial information regarding the car's condition may not have been effectively communicated during the sale by BMW of Cape Cod. Given the gravity of this finding, the risk already assumed, and the estimated cost of $20,266.02 associated with repairing the vehicle, the communicated value of the car at purchase is being brought into question. After speaking with a sales representative, it was communicated that I am out of the 60-day window of my dealership warranty. However, this significant defect seems to warrant a revaluation of what the dealership's responsibility is. I am still financing the vehicle through BMW Financial and was presented during the purchase that the car was in top condition with no major concerns being communicated, especially related to costly engine repai Resolution Sought To either settle the vehicle where I don't owe anymore on it or take it back and return my money.
