Traded in a vehicle that I had a lien on for the amount of ~28500. The dealership offered me 32200 for the vehicle. The sales person got the estimated pay off stating that the finance person would get the official number. The estimate that he wrote down was around 27500. Once in the finance office the finance person asked for the payoff amount. He took my phone, pulled a report from my bank app, and checked the per diem which was around 2.50 per day. He also got the phone number for my bank and called to confirm the amount of 28500. He printed off a stack of papers and quickly had me sign all of them. On the actual purchase agreement he put the 27 figure instead of the correct 28. 3 weeks later, after my check clears for the vehicle I purchased from them, they call and tell me the pay off amount that I gave them was incorrect and I owe an extra 950. I told them that they were the ones that pulled the numbers, not me. And they even admitted to calling my bank to confirm and signed next to it. They are insisting that the credit union gave them the incorrect amount but I called my credit union and they said the payoff has never been below 28500 so that is impossible. I called and talked to the general manager Aaron London who told me that it was my fault and my problem and refuses to acknowledge that they made a mistake. Now they are holding 67k truck deal hostage over a $950 error they made. Resolution Sought Admit the mistake they made and payoff the vehicle like they agreed to.
