I went to Bob Pion to service my truck and had the airbag recall fixed. they told me they didn't have the correct tools to fix it but they would do the best they could, and if anything there would be a very minor scratch. When I picked up my truck on a Saturday they first did not even have anyone that could get into the register to give me my change(they would have to mail it). When I got in my truck I noticed that the dash board was cracked. I went back into Bob pion and tried to speak with a salesman(he and another salesman were the only ones there) he said I would have to call back Monday because "he was only a salesman" i called Monday and they made an appointment for me to bring the truck in today so a trim guy could look at it. I got a phone call a little while ago from Rob pion who told me he could fix it but there is no warrantee that it won't recrack or break again. I told him I wanted a warrantee that it wouldn't break or if it did they would fix it again or replace the dash, he then got an attitude with me and said"thats not going to happen" and "I have alot to do today,so have a nice day" and hung the phone up on me. Resolution Sought I would like them to fix the crack and warrantee that if it breaks they will replace it or just replace the dash

Mr. Costa dropped his vehicle off for a recall, when dropping it off per GM we informed the customer that the dash could be affected or scratched during the repair. It is a well known issue of a weak spot in the dash of this generation of trucks. He made the decision to preserve the safety of passengers in his vehicle by performing the Takata air bag recall per GM which does come with the risk of dash damage which was clearly stated to him. At no time was it ever stated we didn't have the correct tools. Mr. Costa went online and was able to see that the issue he experienced with his dash is all to common for this era of vehicles and is a risk of doing this safety recall. We have since attempted to repair his dash which also resulted in an unsatisfactory repair. GM states in the recall that they "will not" replace the dash if it cracks during the repair. The first step was to attempt a repair, Mr. Costa was not happy with this repair. I have reached out to GM to see if they could offer us any assistance as we are performing a recall on a delicate portion of the vehicle. We have since received the go ahead to replace this dash panel for the customer. We are awaiting arrival of the dash as they are on national backorder.

When I dropped my truck off for the repair I was told that there may be a very minor scratch to the dash but they would do there best to be "gentle with the truck,I was never ever told that the dash could possibly crack or that gm would not replace it if it did crack.what person would bring in a vehicle for a repair and say its ok if you break the vehicle while repairing it? i was indeed told that unfortunately they did not have the correct tools to do the job,and never once did i go online and look to see if gm would replace the dashboard if it was cracked in the process.i was only told this after the fact by Mr. Rob Pion. Mr. Pion did say that he was attempting to located a new dashboard for my vehicle and would let me know when/if it comes in.
