Customer Complaint

I had two vehicles towed for parking meter violation on 8-10-24 approximately 2000 hours. No tow fees visible on the website or at the tow yard. The towing company would not accept debit or credit cards and the only way to retrieve our vehicles that night was either cash, zelle or apple pay. We had to zelle pay the tow truck driver personal bank account for both our vehicles to collect them out of the tow yard. The company is avoiding taxes and charging patrons whatever fee they feel. Resolution Sought I would like a partial refund, I'm at fault for towing but unaware of tow fines, plus the illegal transaction utilizing zelle to get my truck out of the impound lot.

We understand that dealing with a towing situation can be frustrating, and we appreciate the opportunity to address your concerns. First, please be aware that there are clearly posted tow signs around the parking lot indicating that vehicles may be towed for parking meter violations. Additionally, tow fees are visible and posted inside the tow yard. Your vehicles were towed after our office hours, which is why the tow fees could not be seen at the time of retrieval. However, if the towing had occurred during regular office hours, you would have had the opportunity to review the fee schedule inside our office. Regarding payment methods, we offer several options, including Zelle, Apple Pay, Visa, and Mastercard. Unfortunately, on Saturday, when your vehicles were towed, U.S. Bank systems were down for maintenance, which affected our ability to process card transactions at that time. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. Zelle is a legally acceptable payment method for businesses in California, and we provide it as one of our payment options. We also want to address a concerning issue: using a police badge to attempt to intimidate or influence a business transaction is inappropriate and you tried intimidating our employees with your badge and demanded your cars be released without a fee; that is considered an abuse of power. We recognize that having your vehicle towed is an unpleasant experience, and we encourage you to be mindful of parking regulations to avoid future incidents. We appreciate your understanding and hope this clarifies the situation.
