My vehicle was driven with no starting issues or (any other concerns but overheating) into the dealership. My vehicle has been in and out of this shop for an extensive amount of time. The dealership never mentioned any other concerns but the engine, when they initally diagnosed the vehicle. We discussed their recommendation of purchasing a newly remanufractured engine for $7,155 but I was never informed my old parts, such as hoses, would be used in the newly remanufractured engine. The dealership claimed nothing else was wrong with the vehicle (new engine installed) even after making several complaints of the car still overheated. 2 weeks after the vehicle was brought back in with another 2 damaged gaskets. The dealership fixed the gaskets under warranty but the vehicle continues to be in and out with now new repairs the dealership is stating that results in another $3,371.95. Out of the 5 new problems, the vehicle has already 2 of these parts newly installed within the year. Totally this dealership charged me $10,527.38 for work that was never fully done correctly and without informing me correctly. I've paid the engine off and owe the remaining $3,371. This was all recently requested and again was never mentioned in the beginning. We are grateful for the rental car the eventually offered, but feel we have been scammed out of alot of money. Resolution Sought I feel this is not fair and I should not be responsible for the additional $3,371.95 they are asking for. I feel if this dealership would have been upfront and honest about the work that was being conducted, I could have also saved myself money with rebuilding my original engine instead (that's what ultimately happened) and could have prevented this $3,371.95 worth of work. Unfortunately there is no way to confirm it but I am now stuck with my vehicle in a shop and a bill they want me to cover.

On September 30th, 2020 James Wilkinson brought his 2010 Chevrolet Camaro in at 220,187 miles with the concern that oil was found on spark plugs after customer performed a tune up and requested for us to replace valve cover gasket. After technician inspected the vehicle we had recommended to replace engine assembly due to internal engine damage. I explained to the customer that we would not recommend an engine rebuild due to the high mileage and age of the vehicle. The customer was given an estimate but the customer stated he could not afford the cost of the repairs. After months of the vehicle being here at our shop the customer stated he was working to come up with the money for the repairs and gave verbal authorization to order parts and begin repairs. By May 10th 2021 the repairs were complete with the total price of $7,155.43. The customer had paid and picked up vehicle by May 11th. (Repair order and parts list available upon request) On June 29th 2021 James had brought the camaro in with 224,216 miles stating that the engine was overheating. Customer stated that after he had picked up vehicle in May of 2021there was a hose that had collapsed shut and he had replaced various hoses on his own before bringing vehicle back to us in June. After the technician inspected the vehicle we had found that the thermostat was sticking causing engine to overheat and warped engine heads. Both heads were repaired and all necessary parts replaced under warranty at no charge to the customer all while the customer being provided with a loaner vehicle at no charge while the repairs were being done. On October 20th of 2021 customer brought the camaro in with 229,160 miles stating that at times when driving the vehicle hesitates accelerating and starts jerking when accelerating. Customer also stated smells coolant at times and engine has slow start at times. We provided the customer with another loaner at no charge. After inspection we recommended replacing the vent solenoid causing and check engine light and to replace starter for "slow start" concern. Technician pressure tested the system and no coolant leaks found. Customer declined to have repairs done through dealership and picked up vehicle by November 5th, 2021 with no charge to the customer for inspection. On December 20th 2021 James Wilkinson contacted us stating he was experiencing issues again and that he would need a loaner before bringing vehicle in. I offered to him that we could have the vehicle towed in so we can inspect vehicle but we did not have a loaner vehicle available at this time. I stated that we would contact him as soon as I had a vehicle available to put him in. Later that day on December 20th my general manager Mr. Ronnie Harrell was contacted by email from James Wilkinson and his spouse Estella Gonzales expressing their concerns about the vehicle and us not having a loaner for them at that time. We were able to work out getting another loaner vehicle into our fleet and provide a loaner to the customers, once again at no charge, on December 21st 2021. The camaro at that time had 235,315 miles on it. The customer concerns are as follows A.) After vehicle sits overnight engine hesitates starting and has to press accelerator pedal to start engine then after engine starts black smoke comes from exhaust. B.) Vehicle hesitates when accelerating onto highway like engine does not want to accelerate. C.) Engine will not crank at times then after a few tries engine finally cranks and turns over to start. D.) Customer smells fuel odor inside vehicle E.) Customer sees possible fluid leak on front left side of radiator area. After inspection of these concerns we recommended and provided estimate to customer for replacement of #3, #4, #5 fuel injectors, ignition coil #6, vent solenoid, starter motor and lastly leaking transmission cooler lines with a total estimate of $3,371.95. Since none of the parts have been previously replaced and no current or aftermarket warranty coverage, all cost of repairs would be the customers responsibility. The customer declined the repairs for the ignition coil #6, vent solenoid and starter motor. The customer gave a verbal authorization to replace the 3 recommended fuel injectors and the transmission cooler lines bringing the total invoice to $1,566.70. Since the customer is a frequent customer of ours we did not charge our usual diagnosis fee which is typically $135.00 per 1.0 labor and no charge for the loaner vehicles provided to the customer. The only charges are for the parts and labor authorized by the customer. All authorized repairs have been completed and vehicle is currently at our dealership ready for pick up.
