I purchased an old fixer-upper manufactured home from Cal-Am Properties located at 11684 SW Royal Villa Dr. #82 Tigard, OR 97224. As part of the purchasing agreement, Cal-Am Properties hired Alpha Environmental to conduct an asbestos abatement on the roof. At the time of purchase, the house was scheduled for demolition, and we acquired it just a week before the planned demolition date. Regrettably, Cal-Am Properties failed to inform Alpha Environmental about the sale of the manufactured home, leading to a lack of awareness on their part. Consequently, when Alpha Environmental performed the asbestos abatement, they inadvertently caused severe damage to both the roof and the siding of the house, resulting in approximately $20,000 worth of damages. Despite our efforts to address the issue, we have faced difficulties in finding a resolution, with both Cal-Am Properties and Alpha Environmental pointing fingers at each other. We possess a letter from Alpha Environmental stating that the asbestos survey was conducted as part of a pre-demolition assessment. This strongly indicates that the miscommunication originated from Cal-Am Properties' failure to inform Alpha Environmental of the change in ownership. Resolution Sought We need the roof and the siding of our home repaired and ready for winter. The roof has holes and the moment it starts raining our roof will inadvertently leak into the house and cause further damage.
