Hire Someone Else, ANYONE Else!

I'm sure this review will get a response from California Construction Services say something along the lines of "the consumer is not telling the truth" or threatening a lawsuit, as they have done to many others who leave honest reviews. Either of those two responses are welcome. We've saved our proof for the records. By far one of the worst companies we've hired for our renovation projects. It all started off promising with Jason showing an extensive list of satisfied clients during his estimate site visit. My mistake was not calling the people on that list to verify their satisfaction. At first it appeared that they were on top of things. Unfortunately the entire experience changed as the project went along. About halfway into their work I had to start chasing them down to finish portions of their work so that other crews could start their assigned work. Jason had an excuse every time. I have to say, that's one of three things they are great at, 1) making excuses 2) threatening lawsuit and 3) Pushing for payment as soon as they finish a step. Upon completion of the stucco portion of our project, I got a call from Jason, asking for their final payment on the stucco work before the crew left the site for the day. I explained to him that I would be happy to pay him the balance once I have inspected the work, and confirmed the finished product was satisfactory. Luckily, I inspected the work and found two holes the size of basketballs near the foundation, that were didn't stucco, and you could see all the way to the sheathing. After requesting that they fix these issues and requesting Jason (the owner of CCS, or so I believe) to inspect the work as well before final payment, he got upset, refused to come inspect the work and threatened to take us to court for the balance. His crew foreman hearing this unfold, got a couple of the worker to micky mouse patch the holes. At the end of the day I paid them in full, simply to get them out of my hair for good. Jason promised his crew would come out the following Saturday to cleanup the mess left on the new windows and the ground from doing stucco. They showed up and cleaned the windows really well, but left all all the dripped / spilled concreted and top coat on the ground and atrium floor. I ended hiring construction cleaners the following week and spent nearly $1,000 to clean up their mess. That was just for the stucco portion... After they failed to perform portions of the work to waterproof an atrium floor and a rooftop deck which I had already paid a deposit for and had asked them to complete several times, I informed Jason that I was gonna have someone else do it. Since they had no intention of ever finishing and I could not afford to delay the project any further due to their inabilities, I asked Jason and California Construction Services to return the roughly $2,000 balance for work they were paid for but did not complete. Completely unorganized complete ripoff

I was hired as a subcontractor to install stackstone on one of their stucco projects I went to C.C.S. office and received instructions for work to be completed. I arrived at house and started working and doing what I was told a hour later the homeowner arrived and she was so upset. First of all what I was told to do was not even close to what they wanted I was told to do under the window and across the front wainscoat and she only contracted work for 4 pillars SHE SAID that C.C.S. is the worst most mismanaged company she has ever seen she was Fed up she said they overcharged her for premium stucco work and she said it looked terrible She walked me around house it was a mess the color was splotchy very tough and uneven there were holes and thin areas the yard was a mess the Windows were oversprayed she had a new front window installed a foot over from where it should have been I felt sorry for her DON'T HIRE THIS COMPANY
