The company is divided into 2 companies: 1 does the metal building and the other does the concrete work. I ordered a 26x30 metal garage (approx. $16,000) and a 10x30 lean-to. The concrete work ($6900) performed by Santo Garcia Concrete, is a horrible. The land was close to level but he dug down 18 inches (garage door side) below my driveway and added a foot or more of dirt to the back. Now, there is a large gully from the pad to the driveway and they wouldn't grade it to connect the two. I asked how I was supposed to drive into it and Santo Garcia said I didn't ask for it. What?? The lean-to is so slopped my chairs and grill will be tilted. When I ordered the building I stated the intended usage but they said it wasn't in my contract. I know the lean-to roof is slanted and the pad should be slightly slanted for water, but not to the degree it is. I phoned several times and finally spoke to the manager David, of Santo Garcia Concrete, he said I would have to pay to modify the lean-to pad and to grade the front of the garage to gain access to the garage! He said it was to his standards. Total cost: $6900. (Money I saved up to enjoy my upcoming retirement!) They will install the metal building in a few weeks after I pay for supplies. This has been a nightmare and I rue the day I ever decided to do business with them! Red Flag: I had to pay the full amount up-front before they would do the concrete work. Normally, it's half up-front and half at completion. Resolution Sought Now, I have to hire someone else to grade to the driveway and level the lean-to so I can sit furniture on it. To do it correctly, the lean-to pad should be removed and re-poured, but I'm going to see if someone can add an adhesive and pour more concrete. I think they should pay for this! The other company will install the metal building in a few weeks but this needs addressing before installing.
