BCA's Summary and Analysis:

Complainants contain a pattern of serious allegations concerning deceptive sales practices and failure to honor their posted 100% satisfaction guarantee return policy. ~~Customers complain that checks received as compensation for their gold and jewelry are a fraction of the actual value of the items. In some cases complainants report they receive letters advising them the items sent were not gold and unless the customer sends $20 return postage their items will be discarded. In other cases customers claim that after sending pre-evaluated scrap and jewelry worth several hundred dollars they receive a check for as little as $5. Despite written requests emails and phone calls all allegedly made within the eight day period offered in the money back guarantee customers routinely report they are advised their items have already been melted down and they have no recourse than to accept the original amount. (Note: The eight day period to reject the company's offer begins to run from the date of their check NOT the date the check is received by the customer.)~~The company responds to some complaints by advising complainants they failed to comply with one or more conditions of the offered guarantee and that their items have already been melted. In some cases the company advises the customer that their items are being returned. Some complainants dispute that the company actually returned the items as agreed.
