Customer Complaint

Clayton County Water Authority are not providing disconnection dates to customers and turning off customers water. They send invoices with due dates and balances but not informing customers that water will be disconnected. They are collecting way too much money from customers for reconnect fees causing more hardship to customers. The customer service reps are very rude and hangs up on you because you say you going report this. They are refusing to give out information of who to contact to file a complaint against the company. This needs to stop and customers needs to be notified in writing if service is subject to be disconnected. Whether you have a disability or not customers need to be notified. I am disabled as well as my daughter is disabled. The public needs help to stop CCWA from doing this. I was told by several reps that CCWA does not give customers disconnecting notices they just disconnect them. Resolution Sought I need the reconnect charges off my bills and needs to be notified in writing.

Company Response

Company states; As a representative of Clayton County Water Authority (CCWA), I would like to inform you that on October 14, 2021, at 12:53pm I spoke with Ms. Lee concerning company. At the time Ms. Lee expressed her frustration with our disconnect policy and lack of communication. During our conversation, I explained CCWA's methods of communication to warn customers of pending disconnection as well as our payment extension options. CCWA notifies customers of pending disconnections by mailing a past due bill, as well as a phone call two days prior to interruption of service. As courtesy Ms. Lee's disconnection fee was waived, and her service was restored that day. Customer was provided with tips on how to go about making payment extension should she need additional time on her future bills.
