Customer Complaint

After a flood, I hired Cleveland fire and water restoration. Eager to start mitigating damage, I signed their agreement. The price was extremely high (17k) but they assured me that if it was not covered by insurance they would reduce the cost significantly. I was informed the issue would not be covered so I canceled the job immediately. They only worked on the house for 6 hours. They drained water(only partially because it came right back the next day), ripped out 3/4 of the carpet, and left equipment that I asked to have removed. I reached out and let them know that the issue wasn't covered and they wouldn't work with me. They took advantage of the situation thinking it would be covered by insurance. I even offered to settle the dispute just so I could move on. Resolution Sought Renegotiate terms. I do not feel like $4500.00 is fair. In fact, I called three other companies that quoted me $2,000 for the job done.

Hello Nicholas, we are very sorry to hear about your unfavorable experience. As any homeowner would be, we are sure it is frustrating when insurance does not cover a loss. We fully respect every homeowner's decision when they inform us they want to terminate mitigation services. Unfortunately, we cannot be held responsible for re-flooding, and must bill for the work that was already performed. We offered a significant discount off the estimated cost as you stated, due to the premature termination of services, and we even offered our lowest price that we could to allow us to cover expenses. We cannot speak for other companies that quoted the job and the quality of work they perform, as it is not something that can be simply compared without factoring in a scope of work. We would be more than happy to settle this debt with you. Please reach out to us at (440) 530-4881 or by email help@clevelandwaterandfire.com.
