We hired Coffey Bros. moving company to move us at the end of August 2024. We were quoted $2215.56 to move. When all of our stuff was brought to the new house, and it was time to unpack they wouldn't unpack until we paid. We were charged $3800.00 During the move there was some damage done to the walls in our old house. The movers told us someone could come out the next day to repair the damage. When I called to set that up no one answered the phone-multiple times. Our realtor also reached out. After several days of no response, our lawyer also reached out to have the repairs made. Eventually we got a response saying it would be 30-60 days until someone reached out to us with claim forms. I received those forms on October 1st. In the end, we ended up paying for the repairs to the tune of $700 prior to getting the claim department to respond to us. We had copies of receipts for work done and even had the lawyers write a check for the work. The most extensive damage was in the basement stairwell where the movers attempted to force a treadmill up the stairs without taking it apart. In their denial of our claim to be repaid, they claim that the movers told my husband it wouldn't fit and he told them to move it anyway. In fact what happened is the movers told my husband they were going to attempt to move the treadmill up the stairs without taking it a part to save money. My husband agreed since we moved the same tr Resolution Sought Pay the $700 in damages they caused to the walls of our previous home.
