I took my dog to get fixed. She was a 7 year old blue pit with no prior health issues or problems. The procedure was scheduled for 8 am. When my gf called at noon she was coming out of surgery they said everything went well we were welcome to call and check on her later in the day. I got a call about 3:30, saying she was bleeding heavily still and that they were going to go back in and make sure they hadn't missed anything. At 5 I get a call from the veterinarian that he lost her. Shocked it took me a min to answer and when I asked "what?!" He replied verbatim "you heard me she's gone." He was rude and compassion less. He then tells me that this is the reason he does blood work prior to surgery to make sure the animal has no preexisting conditions. So confused I asked why didn't you do bloodwork then? He said that my gf and I refused for her to have bloodwork done. This is absolutely not true and he then went on to argue with us and hung up. We were asked if we wanted any vaccines and replied no and they said by law she has to have a rabies shot. We agreed that was ok and that was it. As licensed professional if the success of my patient is greater with something like a blood test before surgery shouldn't you be making that decision? I've had several animals in my lifetime and I have never heard of this. At the end of the day my family and I suffered a great loss, she was like my child and she didn't deserve what happened to her. This man is unprofessional and a liar. Resolution Sought I want the business shut down, this isn't the first time this has happened apparently he has a reputation unfortunately, I found out too late. He doesn't deserve to have anyone else fur babies lives in his hands.
