My dad bought a car for 8000.00 from Hudson Ford in 2021. He has paid 7400.00 on this car and consumer portfolio services is calling because his payment is overdue and they are threatening to repossess it. I checked his account online through their website and it shows he still owes $10,300.00. According to their files he has paid $3,420. on the principle, $3412. Interest and $458. In fees. This is absurd. They're saying he owes more than the original purchase price. My dad is 81 years old, he no longer has a driver's license and lives on a fixed income. My dad also has several medical issues, such as dementia, an aneurysm on his aorta, and possibly colon cancer just to name a few. Now he bought this car to get to and from his appointments. I'm not sure what's going on with this car loan and the payments but I don't think it should be legal much less ethical. We called and talked to a supervisor named Davinncia to find out why he owes so much, how is he being charged 50 percent interest rate? She repeated several times that's the loan he signed and are you making a payment today. I told her that's absurd who would take out a loan like that. She couldn't tell us if they were a collection agency or a loan company. I don't think it's right to be facing repossession of a car that should be almost paid off, and when trying to work something out with the company, the only response was how much will you be paying today. At $277 a month for 6 years, he will pay almost $20,,000.00 Resolution Sought An $8,000.00 loan at 14.9 interest would be $1,192.00 + $8,000.00 and maybe some late fees. The loan obviously was not explained to him, and he cannot understand why the car is not almost paid off. I feel they have taken advantage of an elderly person and they should make it right. 14.9 interest is high already. He has paid them a lot of money for the car already. Even when they reposed the car he gave them approximately $1,700.00 and they had it towed back to him and charged him another $300.

I have made 2 and half years in payments of $388.00 on loan that was 12k. The amount still owed per cps is higher now than the original cost of the car. I was duped from the beginning because thry put om the car with my daughter as the principle owner. She has done nothing with or have any thing to do with car. I went for refinancing but because the car is 3 yrs old. The value has dropped a lot. I wanted to pay the car off but they still wantv12k and my calculations I have paid 12k already. Please help me.vi am a senior on very limited income. Resolution Sought I would like for them to be accountable for the 12k I've paid and reduce the amount still owed so I can amicably complete the loan. Unbeknownst to me this company has duped hundred of thousands of people and also bee fined for its practices. I also have asked them to stop the annoying contact as I pay every month.
