My wife and I drove our vehicle in to have a noise and the starter checked out, we have a warranty on the vehicle and a separate warranty on the motor because it was replaced 6 months ago. The warranty covered the control arm minus $341 for hardware, deductible and diagnostic. We were told the work couldn't be done until Monday and we owed $291 to pick it up and use it for the weekend so we paid that and brought the vehicle back Monday. We got a phone call saying the company that replaced the motor stripped the axle nut and the axle needs to be replaced and our warranty will not cover stripped threads. I called the company that replaced the motor and was informed the front axles were never removed to replace the motor and their opinion was that when Nissan removed the axle either hit the end with a hammer trying to remove it and missed , messing up the threads or dropped the brake rotor on it because they have seen that many times. I called Nissan back and suddenly they claim we owe $198 rather than the $60-70 balance and our vehicle is now not drivable unless we pay them to fix the axle Resolution Sought We want Nissan to replace the axle that was working just fine when we drove it in there we will pay them the balance of the $341 plus tax that the warranty company didn't pay minus the $291 we already paid. We drove our vehicle in for a control arm which they replaced, their mechanic messed up and they should fix what he messed up so we can drive out the way we drove in.
