I called from Cincinnati to make reservations for 5 days because my daughter was in the hospital and had had a mild stroke. Her father had been here previously and had stayed at the Courtyard by Marriott on Highland Boulevard. He recd a military discount; he made his reservation in person once he got here. On the internet you will find multiple Courtyard by Marriott in Oklahoma. I found the one he recommended and called. They took my debit card info and said I was pre-registered. They sent me a text to confirm our reservation. Prior to arriving the hospital told us to ask for a hospital rate. When my husband went in to retrieve our room keys the young lady at the front desk told him that we were prepaid for $500 and that we could get a hospital rate along with our senior rate. She said we were prepaid at $500. When he came back to the car I said oh no we paid a $1078. That is when the nightmare started. My son and I came in with my husband to the front desk and she began to say that we have made our reservation through a third party. I told her that I had never done business with a third party she said it was Expedia. She called the manager and I spoke with the manager on the phone and she said she would talk with me the next day. I met with the front desk manager the next day and she also began to say oh that was a third party. Little did she know that my son was a police in Columbus and he had already looked into this and found that it is a big SCAM. Resolution Sought I expect Marriott to return my $500 & take the proper steps to end their contracts with these 3rd parties who they KNOW are SCAMMING customers so they keep their hotels filled. The customer thinks they're dealing w/Marriott. Marriott accepts their share of the money! So they are complicit!
