They are over charging its original customers. Calling it a coop, since they have expanded They offer same service to outside customers now at a cheaper rate. They charge locals 35 a month to have a home phone that is no longer needed. I was told it was because they receive grant money from the state to provide home phones. How is this not double dipping? Why dont the new customers have to pay the coop and why do they get a discounted rate? The coop is nothing more than a scam. There is no benefit for being in the coop except a check that is about 18 of the monthy bill that was paid. They use random years to pay the return knowing that people will move and never return for their money. I feel it's time to put a stop to this ridiculous state grant that is causing them to charge their original customers extra $35 a month/ $420 a year per customer. Especially when they claim to be a non profit organization but yet give thousands and thousands in bonuses and trips to their employees. This economy is tough enough, we don't need telephone companies taking advantage of us too. Thank you. Resolution Sought Please explain to me why dont the new customers have to pay the coop and why do they get a discounted rate? I would like for the coop to be optional and they shouldn't still be getting a grant for something that is NOT needed anymore.
