Empty promises

Melissa McFarlane, dba "Creative Successful Entrepreneurs" promises "to support YOU – the CREATIVE – to enable you to thrive wildly in your business" (wording taken from her website). My wife and I run a small business and needed help to get it organized and moving forward. In her advertising materials and her contract, Melissa promised individual attention, but all she delivered was a series of canned teleclasses, following a set script, with little opportunity for individual interaction. Most of her program was aimed at teaching us how to sell to to people, and she boasted that she knows just what to say to get people to buy from her. We paid her $8,000 for for a 3-month program which just did not deliver on any of her promises, and she refused to refund our money when we tried to exit from her program. In the end, we took her to Small Claims Court, where the judge ruled in our favor, granting us a partial refund which Melissa has paid. The reason for submitting this review is to warn others to beware of signing up for any of her programs since she promises a lot but delivers little.
