Customer Complaint

I have experienced discrimination by Leasing Agents Jennifer Burch and Kevin Centala while residing at the Farwell Apartment Building, in Detroit. I have resided in that building since November, 2020. I never had a complaint, and always paid on time. 10/25/2021 MSHDA emailed Jennifer Burch that I had been approved for CERA rental assistance and the amount of $3297.00 would be paid to Curator. She agreed to accept the payment. I had interruption in employment in 06/2021 which qualified me for assistance. 10/29/2021 CERA confirmed the check had been mailed, stating it would take up to 6 weeks to arrive. 12/01/2021 I contacted CERA as payment had not shown up on my rental account. No one from Curator notified me. 01/01/2022 After conversation with Jennifer. She stated that if I paid the outstanding balance, the CERA check would applied to my next lease. I borrowed money to pay as agreed. 1/6/2022 I was notified by Jennifer Burch that the unit I was residing in had been leased to someone else, and was no longer available to me, therefore I needed to vacate by 01/31/2022. This turned out to be a false statement. She had not leased my apartment. 1/6/2022 I requested in writing to see other available units. That request was ignored. 1/07/2022 CERA informed me the delay in payment was because the W9 form had been filled out incorrectly by Kevin Centala. 1/14/2022 I requested in writing to see other available units. That request was ignored. Resolution Sought Refund of additional $400.00 per month charges . I wasn't given the option of a longer lease .
