Complaint Resolution Index (CRI) Explained The Complaint Resolution Index (CRI) is an indicator on how responsive a company is in addressing and resolving customer complaints brought to their attention by BCA. If they are considering doing business with the company, consumers can use this indicator to forecast the likelihood of having their issues addressed if a problem arises. CRI measures the company's customer satisfaction abilities through BCA’s complaint mediation process.

A variety of factors are considered when calculating CRI. This includes how quickly a company responds to complaints, the number of complaints against a company, whether the company addressed complaint allegations, and the outcome of the complaints. CRI is just a subset of the overall rating for the company. Consumers are encouraged to take into consideration the company's CRI, their overall BCA letter rating and other relevant information about the company so they can make a well-informed purchasing decision.

In March of 2023 we hired DaBest plumbing to replace pipes in our uninhabited house. The owner is a senior citizen and was living elsewhere at the time. The objective was to prepare the house for him to return. During their work the power line to the furnace was cut with a power saw. Although the use of the power saw was witnessed the actual cut was not noticed during their work. Later in the fall the owner returned home and tried to use the furnace with no success. After having another company come in and identify the problem the owner was charged $174.00 in repairs. I reached out to DaBest for reimbursement and refused. Their work was the cause of these extra repairs therefore they should be responsible for the cost. I spoke with a man named Wayne Brantley who said he deals with these situations for the company. I was denied and communication with the owners. Wayne stated the problem was addressed months later therefore not required for them to pay. Due to the seasons in Michigan and the house not be inhabited at the time the furnace was not being used during that time. The weather cools down around September which led to the use of the furnace therefore THEN detecting the problem and still doesn't justify the dismissal of the cause. DaBest plumbing was paid $2000 for their work in the spring, $174.00 reimbursement for damage they caused during those repairs is very reasonable. NOTE: Wayne Brantley didn't deny the damage caused by the company's plumbers. Resolution Sought Simple reimbursement for the extra repairs. The owner would not have had to pay $174.00 if the power wires weren't cut during their repairs. The owner is ONLY seeking a $174.00 reimbursement
