They charge water and sewer ahead of time in a ridiculous amount. They charge a month in advance. It claims I use 30,000 gallons in consumption when I live in a 2 bedroom apartment. For example I received my water bill this month and it says "service period nov.2,2024 - November 30, 2024" in an amount of $149.30 amd it's due on November 20 of 2024. They've been hiking their prices for years now Resolution Sought Charge me a reasonable amount and charge me what I'm actually using not what they want to charge

The customer contacted us during the week of 11/4/2024 with questions regarding her bill and water usage for her service address. The resident was informed of the balance for November 2024 and was informed about the total utilization of 27,000 gallons of water. While examining the bill and per customer's request, a detailed review of the water usage was conducted, and a possible water leak was detected. Ms. Miranda was informed that we could provide her with a toilet due test strip to determine if the leak was caused by the toilets, which the client stated she would pick up later but never did. The customer was also instructed to check for leaks in other areas other than the restroom. On November 15, 2024, after receiving the complaint, the customer was contacted, and we informed her how the billing is done (fixed rates are charged in advance/usage in arrears), and explained the billing tiers. Ms. Miranda fully understood and stated that she would contact her landlord and make a request to check for water leaks. The Delhi County Water District charges the base rates in advance. For most residential accounts, the cost is $22.14 for water and $51.08 for wastewater. However, the water usage is charge by the previous month's usage record. The District utilize an advanced system for measuring water consumption (Advanced Meter Infrastructure), which record and tracks water consumption. A detailed report is available upon request. If the residents have questions regarding excessive or unusual water usage, our staff will gladly assist in indentifying potential causes and making a recommendation to resolve the problem. The Delhi County Water District has consistently maintained the lowest rates possible, ensuring that residents are respected! Our rates have been unchanged since January 1st, 2023.
