My father bought me a pair of shoes as a gift. The Lebron Witness 7 for $109.99, size 11.0. He paid in cash. Two weeks later he gave them to me for my birthday. Although I love that he tried to get me some signature Lebron shoes, these team shoes were not what I was wanting. He lost the receipt unfortunately, so I knew I wasn't going to get money back, but I was very okay with exchanging them for something I would wear. I take the shoes into the store, ask how much they are worth so I can know how much I can spend, and the associate scans them at "$110." I can't find shoes I like, so I grab two pair of Nike pants, and proceed to do the exchange. However, the shoes are scanning $14.00 now. The associate calls a manager, and the manager explains, without a receipt, the value of the shoes will be $14 dollars. The pants I selected were $56.00 each totaling $112. More than the initial $110 of the shoes, and $98 more than they are will to give me in store credit. The manager gives me customer service to help resolve the store credit issue, instead of trying to fix the problem himself. Customer service agrees that they don't have a solution to my problem, but connects me with someone that "might be able to help. " Again, "nothing we can do without the receipt." I again explain, I am not trying to get money back, I just want something I would enjoy wearing. "Sorry, it's at the managers discretion." She then suggested I could try other DSG locations and ask other managers. Resolution Sought I just want the total value of the shoes in store credit. $110.00, With the freedom to buy whatever I want.
