Could not repair my ECM but needed the core just the same

I sent in my ECM to get repaired (was quoted about 800 $) . Once received, they responded that the unit cannot be repaired and I have to buy one of their refurbished units for $1995. I then said that I also wanted my old unit back when replacement shipped, which they agreed to but when came time to return that unit, they said that I have to pay an additional 1000$ to get my unit back or not get a warranty for the replacement unit they were sending. In other words folks, it sounds to me like there is no 795$ repair service here . Seems there is only a replacement service for $2000. I recommend finding a better option out there.
