Took 3 to 4 quote for floor installation. Settled with Direct Flooring because of their reputation and have known the family for many many years. Even babysit when the owner of this business was an infant. Signed Invoice plus paid $1,131 on July 5, 2017 for the install of ceramic tiles I purchased separately. Contractor went missing in action. I called multiple times with no answer and emailed. All emails bounced back as "unknown." No one from the company reached out to me. I finally called the Aunt of the contractor who lives across street from my home. I get a phone call from the spouse, [wife] of the contractor and proceeds to arrange installation of the tiles. The wife explained to me that everything was already Paid-In-Full and that no further payments were required. She informed me that another contractor, The RAZA Flooring who works with Direct Flooring would be installing the tiles. Two weeks later the wife calls and tells me I need to pay an additional $1,200.00 with no real explanation . I asked why I needed to pay when I already paid and she told me I did not have to pay anymore. She told me The RAZA Flooring cannot install without me paying $1,200. Needed the floors installed asap. I had other specialty contractors coming in to install fireplace and 150 gallon aquarium. I paid the $1,200 October 2018. DF says floors were damaged prior to install. RAZA tells me no damage was present. No invoice saying my floors had prior damage. Home is NEW CONSTRUCTION! Resolution Sought Refund the overpayment of $1,200 for which there is no invoice for. RAZA says no damage was present and Direct Flooring paid him $1,000 and I paid an extra $1,200. I prepped the floors before install myself with my brother-in-law. The floors were smooth as a babies bottom. This home is NEW CONSTRUCTION.
