We did originally inform customer that this was a 4 week job; however, it was delayed due to the Machine Shop also being behind on their jobs. Every time he came into the shop for an update, he was aware that this was not our fault and appeared to understand without any concern. As to asking for more money, we never asked him for more. The set price was $2400, he gave a $1200 deposit and was to pay balance upon picking the vehicle when completed. We actually gave him money every time he came into our shop letting us know he did not have any food to eat. He got upset when I refused to give him MORE money when he came in with another individual, who also smelled like alcohol. At the end of February, repairs were finally completed. He was notified. He came to the shop, under false pretense of "checking the motor" to make sure all was completed, the keys were in the vehicle, so he jumped in the car and took off without paying final bill of $1200. I called the local Police Department and made a Police report. At this time he has the vehicle and owes us a balance of $1200.00.
