I booked a compact SUV online from Dillar Car Rental at Wilmington, NC Aurport. I received 2?texts from them one dated 11/22/25 at 9:43 am and the other on day of arrival 11/23/25 at 2:30'pm confirming my reservation. Upon arrival at 10 pm at night from out of state; we were told they were not renting to us we were on a Do not Rent list. Upon my shock, I informed them they were mistaken as my husband has a rather common name Richard King. At that point I said to put reservation in my name then and they refused. I could not understand what was happening as we rarely rent vehicles and have never had an issue. We were there to visit my son who is active duty Marine, his wife, and my two small grandchildren who live an hour from the airport. The whole reason for the rental car is our late flight in, an hour away from our son's residence and my two small grandchildren. The two men at the counter had absolutely no explanation which I kept asking for, but handed me a business card with their customer service (no one picked up and I left several messages that night and the following morning. I asked them at 11 pm on a Sunday night why they were doing this. They informed me I could rent a vehicle from one of the other counters. Because it was Thanksgiving time those other rental companies had no vehicles to rent so we had to take an Uber at 11:30 at night. The next morning I called Hertz Corporate the parent company and spoke to a very nice gentleman (whose name was Rich Resolution Sought Corporate said we were never on any such list, this company is a private licensed company whose own customer service department also told us they had 3 Richard King's in their system and my Richard King with our CT address and his DOB was absolutely not in the do not rent list and the guys at the counter had made a mistake. She told us they would give us a voucher for future use, which I declined and then offered to reimburse our UBER from and back to the airport. Now they're refusing .

On March 7, I reserved a rental car from Expedia for Dollar Rental for 642.93. The rental was for March 10 thru 20th. On March 10, at the Lihue Airport, the clerk did not honor the reservation from Expedia and charged us $941.81 for a 10 day rental. I contacted Expedia and they looked into the agreement and Dollar Rental has refused to honor the agreement. Therefore with the fee of 642.93 from Expedia and the $941.81 fee from Dollar Rental, the charge on my credit cards is $1584.74. Which means I paid $158.77 a day for the car. Resolution Sought I want Dollar Rental to reinburse my credit card the $941.81.
