Company Response

4/12/2022

The following is the background regarding this complaint. This client has a balance owing to our company and Dotson Construction LLC does not feel their requested settlement is justified. Up until the time they refused to pay for labor and materials, the Sackets reported to Jim of Dotson Construction LLC, they were very happy with all work being completed. They even requested Dotson Construction LLC perform more work, which was not agreed upon in the original remodeling costs discussed. Dotson Construction LLC discussed with the Sackets the cost of remodeling the bathroom and the agreed upon price would be between $4000.00 and $5000.00. The Sackets requested Dotson Construction LLC complete additional work, including removing and drywalling the existing bathroom ceiling, adding texture to a bathroom wall that was previously painted, and installation of two gates. Dotson Construction LLC rented an auger at $250.00 per day, to drill holes and set concrete footings for homeowner, in order to install two new large farm gates on their property. These are additional costs, that were not discussed in the original bathroom remodel costs. Dotson Construction LLC started working on the project, and after 1 week, requested a down payment of $3000.00 to continue funding the labor and materials. The Sachets paid cash, but Dotson Construction LLC never worked under the table. The Sackets still owe Dotson Construction LLC $2523.62 for labor and materials. When Jim with Dotson Construction LLC attempted to contact the homeowner and find out what the billing concerns were, Mr. Sacket answered the phone and stated there was a problem. Then Mrs. Sacket responded with extremely inappropriate language and then hung up the phone, prior to informing Dotson Construction LLC of their concerns. When a customer chooses not to pay, Dotson Construction LLC will stop work until payment for services rendered have been received. There was no damage done to any of the Sackets property and Dotson Construction is very meticulous with our work ethics. Costs: Dates work completed: 03/18/22, 03/21/22, 03/22/22, 03/23/22, 03/24/22 Total labor hours: 90.5 Total labor costs: $3817.50 Material costs: $1706.12 Total for all costs: $5523.62 Amount Paid by Sackets: $3000.00 Amount Still Owing by Sackets: $2523.62 Thank you, Dotson Construction LLC ccb #231098
