When notified by Dynegy of a rate increase in September, 2022, I called on August 5, 2022 and asked to be placed in the Anderson Township Aggreation rate class of 4.98 cents per KWH. I was told this would be taken care of. When I received my October bill, I saw I was charged a rate of 12.99 cents per KWH. plus a base charge of $9.95. I called again on October 19, 2022 to find out why I was charged the higher rate. I was told that there was an error when they filed my application and it was rejected by their computer. They would process my application again. I filed a request for a refund of the overcharges, but was told there was nothing they could do. In the meantime, I received my November bill which was also calculated at the higher rate. I am9 seeking a refund of $274.72, which consists of overcharges of $134.06 for the month of October and $140.66 for the month of November. The overcharge calculation in based on then difference between Dynegy's new rate and the Anderson Township rate of 4.98 cents per KWH. My Dynegy account # is 910108447434Z110285690. Resolution Sought I want a refund for the October-November period, plus a refund for the December bill if they have not yet switched me to the Anderson Township rate.

In his complaint, Mr. Menter expressed concern that his account has not been enrolled in the Anderson Township municipal aggregation program and would like a refund for the rate difference he has paid. Our investigation found that James Menter is a resident at the address of Crittenden Dr. Cincinnati, OH 45244. On August 5, 2022, Mr. Menter called Dynegy to enroll in the Anderson Township municipal aggregation program (call attached). At this time the enrollment was submitted for account number (9080072621). The transaction was rejected by his utility, Duke Energy stating the account was not found. On October 19, 2022, Mr. Menter contacted Dynegy to inquire why his supply rate with Dynegy is not $0.0498 cents per kWh. At this time the enrollment order was resubmitted with the correct account number (910108447434Z110285690). The effective date is November 15, 2022. (see attachment A) On December 6, 2022, Dynegy agent spoke to Mr. Menter and apologized for the inconvenience and advised his refund amount is $274.72 for the two billing periods effected. Mr. Menter agreed to the refund calculations (see attachment – Refund). Dynegy advised it will take approximately 6 weeks to receive the refund via US postal service. Mr. Menter appreciated the call and the resolution to his complaint. We trust this information will assist you in closing this inquiry.
