I had my car towed to east chester auto for alternator issues. I clearly stated i thought the problem was with the alternator. They replaced a crank shaft sensor and never tested the alternator. 2 days after getting the car back it died on the side of the road. When i called to ask why they didnt check the alternator they told me to fix it myself and hung up on me. They never tested the 1 part i asked them to check. They said their only job was to get the car started again. Resolution Sought Either pay for alternator replacement or refund for labor hours due to not fixing or testing the 1 part i asked to be checked

Vehicle was brought in via flatbed. Did not start and vehicle had multiple parts disconnected. After testing, scanning vehicle and putting back together, we found the crank shaft position sensor broken. We replaced and vehicle started up. Kept car overnight to see if it would restart and it did. Car was here for 5 days and started. if it was the alternator it wouldn't' have ran. We tested it and it tested fine. Alternators are electrical parts and when they go they are done. They don't' work and not work on and off. I have 34+ years as a master mechanic. This customer drove his vehicle out of here. We did try to call him, but was very confrontational. His vehicle is a 1999, with 219,000 miles on it. I can't foresee all issues with the car. he paid us to get the car running and that's what we did.
