I was a elderly person who didn't keep on top of their finances. This bank would have never realized their mistake,

I deposited 792.00 through Eastern Bank of Dracut on Friday, Feb 28th. The deposit never went through. When Monday morning came around I gave a call to the main branch to see where the money was. They explained that they see a error but no deposit for that date. At that point I was transferred over to the Dracut branch to speak with Karen the manger. She explained that the teller made a clerical mistake on the deposit slip and my money went into another account. The bank was able to transfer my money back into my account. But, not before Karen tried to blame me for the teller's mistake. Karen the manager explained to me that because I went through the drive up window and had the teller fill out the deposit slip instead of me doing it myself, that's why the mistake happen. So, basically what Karen is saying is that her teller's are incapable of doing their job which includes filling out many kinds of documents that require correct numbers. Let's say I was a elderly person who didn't keep on top of their finances. This bank would have never realized their mistake, and the customer would of had all kinds of checks bouncing, over drafts, and so on. I may have got my 792.00 back. But, this should have never happened in the first place! I think the person who was responsible for this clerical mistake needs to be put on written warning.
