Some complainants allege although they believe they have cancelled subscriptions they continue to be billed or receive emails advising them that their account has been automatically renewed. Other customers are dissatisfied with the length of time it takes to receive suitable matches or are unable to respond to matches received. In other cases some complainants found it difficult to reach the company to resolve billing disputes or obtain specific information regarding services.~~The company responds to most complaints by issuing refunds or credits and closing accounts. In other cases the company contends the auto-renewal feature is clearly described on their website as well as in the materials the customer views upon sign-up. Further clients are notified by email at least three days prior to the renewal date to allow ample time to cancel accounts. In some instances the company denied refunds citing their refund policy which indicates that clients have three days to close their account and obtain a full refund. The company contends that although they cannot guarantee all members will be suitably matched the process takes time and they work diligently at assisting their members in finding a companion.

In December, I joined a Harmony dating site, but after giving it a try, I discovered that someone from my area has a criminal history. This individual has a record related to abuse against women, which made me uncomfortable continuing on the site. I've lost trust in the quality of people seeking love here. I've paid for one month of subscription and would like to cancel it immediately. Despite several attempts to ask eHarmony to stop the payments, my requests have been completely ignored, leaving me quite distressed. Their lack of empathy for customers is concerning, especially given the valid reasons I've provided for wanting to end my subscription. I have also filed a complaint with the Australian Department of Fair Trading to help address this issue. I'm saddened by how eHarmony treats its customers. I even offered to pay for up to three months of subscriptions to minimize their loss, yet my request was denied and ignored. It's unacceptable that I could potentially lose nearly AU$600 while feeling unsafe using the site. I don't know where else to turn and hope you can assist me in stopping these payments once and for all. I'm not seeking a refund for the month I've already paid; I just want future payments halted effective today, January 2, 2026. I signed up on EHarmony for 12 months of service and in less than 24 hours I discovered that the west was full of scam artists giving out their phone numbers and asking for yours even before I said hello. The moment I signed up it was like a sea of them were waiting on me and I got bombarded with girls who could barely speak the English language. I requested a refund and EHarmony refuse to issue m deed one. Resolution Sought Just give me my money back
