I had a very negative customer service experience with the woman who runs the store. First of all, she is not bilingual. I believe that if you run a register in a state where English is an official language you should at least be able to understand you customer. When purchasing cigarettes and a few other items she told me that my credit card declined. This was surprising to me because I was sure that there was enough money to cover the amount in question. I was forced to leave the market without purchasing what I needed. Yet, when I came home my bank account app showed that the amount had been deducted in full. Confused, I went back the next day to ask why my money was deducted. She told me she doesn't know why. Then she showed me the receipt from the previous day. The bottom said "Chip Read Error". I'm not sure but I think this means that her credit card machine made an error. (As a side note: This lady insists on running people's cards for them, so I was not the one who had swiped the card at the time of purchase.) I insisted that her machine had made an error or perhaps she had swiped the card incorrectly. I don't think she understood me. She became very defensive, accusing me of threatening her and waving her hands in my face. I just wanted to know why my money was gone when I had left the store without my items. She didn't understand my question. She forced me to leave the store with no offer of explanation and feeling like the whole thing was my mistake. It was awful.
