I treated 2 family members to dinner, went to pay the bill and they had included a 4.03 inflation surcharge #001 on the total. I asked what the surcharge was for, waitress said, because of price increase they could not afford to buy new menus to change prices they were added the surcharge, I asked if this was legal, she said she would have to ask her boss, but she did say it was posted near the cash register, most people do not pay at the register, they give the card to the waitress to process. I had written in the 15 percent tip, Which aI have no issue with, but,is it right to go into a restaurant and have this added in without customers knowing. I have a picture of receipt on my phone and would like to be able to submit... Resolution Sought Explain If this is legal, I have no desired outcome, but I do know one thing, I am not going back, and I will share my experience with family and friends...if I am wrong and this is legal, I apologize ...but, I haven,t seen other restaurants adding this in the bill....what do I want, their establishment to stop cooking people...
