I had to contact the building commissioner to check their work.
I had my roof done by Elbert Construction completed in April 2018, on October 1, 2018 it started leaking where my skylights are at. I had a total of 6 skylights on my roof. By the time it was all done, I had 4 skylights that were leaking. On each incident I have contacted Elbert Construction and have communicated to Gary Griggs, the manager for Elbert Construction and he has stopped by my house on 4 different occasions and climbed my roof and strapped a tarp on all 4 skylights and told me that it was the skylights that were causing the leak! He said my skylights are old and it has nothing to do with Elbert Construction. I called the Building Commissioner of Evansville and had him to come look at my roof and determine if there is a violation code. Building Commissioner and I both climbed my roof and it was determined that the flashing on my skylights was not to code because Elbert Construction did not installed any flashing on my skylights, even though they did charge me for it! So the Building Commissioner wrote a letter to the Bond Company that Elbert Construction stating that if Elbert Construction did not repair and have my flashing up to code, then Building Commissioner of Evansville will revoke their bond and fine them. I guess Gary Griggs took my female status and assumed I wasn't going to climb that roof! So Elbert Construction was trying to defraud me and falsify information to consumers and this should be reported! It is a big construction company.
