contactor bid $55000 to replace asphalt driveway with concrete. after the first day he found he placed more concrete then expected and told me he will want more money to finish. he told me that he never measured the job and used my guess of 5000 square feet, a figure I used when soliciting for contractors. 5 other bids were received all of whom made their own measurements. the contractor in question did in fact come and measure but have no idea how diligently it was done. the bid of 55k was made to make a sale since I had decided to use less expensive asphalt. how do I proceed? Resolution Sought contractor completes the job for the bid amount.
