We were buying out our vehicle at the end of the lease and the dealer added a phantom fee of $3000.oo and a document fee of $695.00. we had a end of lease figure for the residual cost of the vehicle and they added the $3695. they never looked at the vehicle only made a sales slip with the added costs Resolution Sought refund the added fees . we will be filing a complaint with Ford Corp office.

We added no such phantom fee. The sales price was explained and upon the consumer calling ford motor credit for the buyout it states on the line this is your residual value see you dealer for your final sales price. We are entitled to make a profit on lease buyouts as we are putting well over 40,000 dollars of our money out and tying it up for thirty days to process the buyout. Not only that but we also have to pay our staff for handling your paperwork registering your car applying for your title etc. every ford dealer at this time is charging over "residual value" as that is an estimate of what the vehicle will be worth at the end of the lease and not your buyout. The 35 dollar phantom fee your referring to that is clearly displayed on your purchase and sales agreement is your inspection fee to Re inspect your vehicle as it will be registered to you as opposed to cab east with ford motor credit
