I booked a trip for my girlfriend's birthday and it was 4 day trip to Tulum Mexico. The trip was for April 5th to 9th. On the first day my flight was delayed and canceled because the pilot left our flight and there was no one there. I was forced to miss a day and had to stay in rat infested moldy hotel in Atlanta. On the next day in my flight we take off and while in plane the flight turns back to Atlanta because there was heater in plane so the flight got delayed again. We didn't get to Tulum till late Saturday so we missed out on another day. We arrive at Mexico airport and they stole my girlfriends phone and license. When we asked about the workers said we were making it up and refused to let's us check to find it We check in Xambe hotel. The hotel was dangerous barely anyone. On the property of the hotel we were harassed threatened by Mexican police. They tried to extort us for $2000 US dollars. When we said we didn't have it they started to threaten our lives and kidnap us. We got out of that situation by paying them. We talked to hotel front desk and they nonchalantly said this happens all the time. That the government has no order or control in area and also that the police are in controlled by drug cartels. The whole trip was traumatic and dangerous. We was never told anything about this. For our safety back to airport we had to take governmental tracked taxi for our safety. I tried reaching to Expedia and delta airlines no one reached back. Resolution Sought I want full compensation of my trip for all the damages and traumatic experience we had to endure. I would never rely on Expedia. They are showcasing dangerous trips without warning people. Delta airlines mad is also miss 2 days out of all trip. And cause belt damages for making us stay in Hazardous Atlanta hotel. My itinerary number is 72793184417840 and confirm number is MZPVGN. The airlines was delta and Aeromexico. The hotel was called Xambe hotel in Tulum Mexico

We appreciate the Business Consumer Alliance ("BCA") allowing us time to address the comments and concerns brought to our attention. Expedia is responding to the consumer complaint from Mr. Bruno (BCA case number 99021331) regarding a hotel booking. Our records indicate that on 29th March 2024, Boris made a flight + hotel reservation for the travel from 05th to 09th April 2024. We understand Boris is requesting a full refund. I am sorry to hear how they felt about the whole experience they had with us. I understand that throughout their journey, the experience is what counts, and we take such issues seriously. I have contacted the airline on their behalf to request a refund for the delay, unfortunately, they have denied the request since the booking is fully utilized. They advised to raise a request via their site and there is a possibility of getting a compensation, however, It is not promised. Therefore, considering all the points highlighted by them and as our valuable traveler, I have processed a full refund of their hotel booking i.e., USD 483.49 to the Visa card ending with XXXX-1453. They can expect to see the amount reflect in their bank account within 5-7 business days. We thank you for allowing us the opportunity to address the issues brought to our attention.
