I bought a car from Express Auto and had it for a week and a half. I left a park at home the first week of January when we had the big snow and I rode with the coworker because my car is on the front wheel drive and my coworker had four wheel drive, I worked 12 hours came home shoveled my driveway and noticed that my car was smashed on the back passenger side so I called the police and filed a report for a hit and run I live in an apartment complex, the next day I missed work went to Express Auto told them what had happened told them the police report number and I was told by the salesman to pay an extra $71 on my first payment and that would cover the CPI gap insurance and to get an estimate for the damages bring that to them and it fixed right away. I went to Lakeview Ford here in Battle Creek got the estimate gave that to them let them take some pictures at Express Auto and I didn't hear anything for a whole week then I finally called to make my next car payment and I was told not to make the next car payment because it's a vehicle was a total loss. I was told that I owed $500 plus $7,000 plus dollars that the CPI gap insurance did not cover and I was never given the opportunity to pay the $6,000 that the estimate was for to fix the vehicle and keep making payments they just forced to $7,000 debt on me and told me to get another car from them and they would just take that on to the next car after I paid $500 deductible. I need some help. Resolution Sought My vehicle is already totaled out so I want the account closed and I want it off my credit because at this point it is forced debt and I was never given the opportunity to fix the vehicle myself now even if I wanted to since it's already totaled I would have to get a salvage title and special insurance for the vehicle that they totaled out. The car still runs and drives it's just a dent on the rear passenger side tire and door but because of where it's at it's more expensive to fix.
