Customer Complaint

I am writing to formally address a recent incident at Family Dollar that I believe constitutes consumer deception. On 01/12/2025, I attempted to purchase Pampers boxes (64-96 count) and Pampers Easy Up diapers (56-66 count) advertised for 2/$20, both in an online advertisement and a sticker in-store display. As a parent of two small children, I required eight boxes of diapers. When I presented my intention to purchase the advertised diapers, the manager on duty—who declined to provide her name—refused to honor the sale. She claimed that the advertised price was an error on the part of the company, yet she made no attempt to contact the manufacturer or verify the promotion with any relevant parties. Instead, she reached out to the store manager, Richard, who also denied the sale despite my presentation of evidence, including documentation showing the promotional price and clarification that the offer was from the manufacturer, not Family Dollar. I requested the opportunity to speak directly with the store manager to explain the situation. Although the manager on duty was in communication with Mr. Richard, my request was not granted. I was subsequently dismissed and left waiting for over 45 minutes without any response. When I finally inquired, the manager informed me that Mr. Richard's final decision was to deny the sale. She further instructed me that any further discussions would require an in-person visit the following day. Resolution Sought The refusal to honor the advertised price, despite clear evidence and my attempts to resolve the situation amicably, constitutes consumer deception and a violation of basic consumer protection principles. I am requesting a formal review of this matter, including an explanation of the actions taken by your staff and appropriate corrective measures to prevent such incidents in the future. I want my 8 boxes of diapers honored at the price that was listed in store and on their weekly ad.
