Fauber Contracting LLC respectfully submits that this customer initially asked for a quote for the project for the total cost of materials plus labor. After submitting these numbers (materials and labor), she then requested I only charge her for labor. Both parties agreed that this would be $2,000.00. The client Ms. Lipscomb, expressed she will to purchase all the materials from the vendor of her choice. The disputed amount of $650.00 is the cost that the materials that were required to finish the project went over the estimated cost. This was Ms. Lipscomb's responsibility since she requested to purchase all materials. The labor cost, which was already agreed upon by both parties, is what she would pay Fauber Contracting LLC to complete the job. During the construction of the fence project the customer agreed to upgrade a portion of the fence line that would come across her yard, to wood instead of wire. Fauber Contracting LLC provided the wood, (boards), valued at $300.00 in exchange for the remaining roll of wire. This remaining toll of wire valued at approximately $80.00. Both parties, Fauber Contracting LLC and Ms. Lipscomb, agreed to this exchange. Fauber Contracting has been doing business in Rockbridge county and surrounding counties for over 30 years and has never received a complaint regarding our integrity or craftsmanship. On the contrary, we have many clients for whom we have built barns and fences, who will happily vouch for our integrity. Therefore, Fauber Contracting LLC submits to you that this dispute hold no merit.

Customer Rebuttal

On the quote it said that materials purchased by customer would be subtracted from the flat rate quote. That would leave a balance due of 650 of what I paid and an additional amount for the left over fence. I agreed in writing to the quote given by email. I never agreed to an additional amount after the original quote. The wood that was brought out by the contractor after material was delivered by co-op was in exchange for left over post. The contractor ordered the material for the job. He ordered almost double the amount of post that was needed for the job. This is an experienced contractor. That is what was given in exchange for the wood he brought.
