Ok had a 2016 Ford fusion SE that a part on it broke and caused the motor to lock up the part that broke was supposed to be covered under recall Ford lied said it wasn't. Took care to fix it with Fred for a second opinion on what was wrong paid them $400 to do diagnostic testing on it they said motor was locked up. Said they could put a crate motor in it for $5000 but couldn't start the process without having half the money upfront which was $2,500 I told fix it with Fred I'd have to see about getting a loan tried to get the cost covered through fix it with Fred financial program but couldn't get approved so my wife and I started filing for loans to get the money when I called fix it with Fred to let them know we were having problems with getting the money for the repairs his company stated that they had already went and put another motor in it ( without my permission or the $2,500 he had stated I had to pay first) so not only did I pay to have it towed there I paid $400 for diagnostic testing and they went a head without my permission made the repair he said he couldn't do without the $2,500 upfront which was half the cost he said he had to have before starting work on it ) I'm told since I can't pay there putting a mechanic lien on it till I can pay for the work and motor. Knowing I couldn't pay,! I was ripped off of cash I didn't have for testing and a car! And my wife hasn't been able to get back to a lot of important appointments due to some severe health issues thanks Resolution Sought I want either the money for the car 6000 and cost of tow and the $400 for diagnostic I gave them or I want my car back with new motor in it and I owe nothing else to them I mean after he knew I couldn't pay for the work he didn't have permission to do and put a mechanic lien. He said I'll sell you the car for $6000 made me feel stupid

Company Response

5/1/23-Allen towed his vehicle in. He told us the vehicle cranked but would not start. 5/2/23-We sent Allen's report to him. We told him we will have to replace his engine then see if his vehicle starts or not, since the engine was locked up. He told us he had an extended warranty. We contacted them and they wanted oil change receipts to verify that the vehicle has been maintained. Since he didn't have any receipts, they declined coverage. 5/4/23-Allen authorized replacing the engine in person, and paid us $400 cash towards the repairs. He told us he was going to secure financing. We ordered the engine for his car. I was standing there when he authiorized the repair. 5/8/23- Allen applied for financing thru one of our vendors 5/11/23- Allen were declined for financing. 5/30/23- We installed the replacement engine and Allen's vehicle cranked but wouldn't start. It was setting security codes so we texted & called Allen asking for a second key so we can access the security module on his vehicle. We never heard back from Allen so we called and texted you several times. 10/23/23-Allen called over the weekend and left a barely audible voicemail from a different number. Since we use a VoIP system, the voicemails are transcripted. I wasn't able to hear or understand what he was saying. The transcripting software showed us that the caller was Allen Hartman. We looked at the caller ID and texted the new number. We asked for the second key again, and Allen said you would come by the next day to give us the second key 10/24/23-Allen brought us the second key. 10/25/23-Allen texted asking to pickup his license plate (which can't be used on another vehicle until this vehicle's title is out of your name). This was the first sign that Allen was abandoning the vehicle. 10/26/23-Allen came and got his license plate. That showed us Allen wasn't interested in picking up his vehicle. After that I contacted the bank that has a lien on the title. They weren't interested in paying over $5k for a car that won't run, so they told us to extract the title from the state of Ohio. Part of that process is us sending Allen a certified letter, stating how much he owes and how much it would cost for you to pickup your vehicle. That's what he's referring to as us offering to "sell your car back to him" Allen has abandoned his vehicle, and not responded to our communication to the point where we gave up. One of his friends told him that what we're doing (expecting him to pay for authorized repairs) is illegal. When he and his wife left 1 star reviews on my Google business page, they talk about how they don't have any money and are dealing with health problems. They are trying to get back the $400 that they put down on the repairs. I'm stuck with a vehicle with a $5000 outstanding bill that doesn't even run. I'll have to get the title from Ohio Title Bureau, and scrap the vehicle and NOT get the $5000 that Allen authorized. We NEVER used to ask for customers to give us money until we were done with repairs. Because of what Allen did to my business, I've changed that policy. Now if someone authorizes over $2000 worth of repairs, we ask for 1/2 down before we start repairs.I don't want to get stuck with another car where a customer authorized repairs, then doesn't ever pick the vehicle up. I'm sorry that Allen and his wife are having financial and medical issues. That doesn't change the fact that Allen authorized repairs, then didn't pay for it. Him coming to give me the second key, and picking up his license plates showed that he was abandoning his vehicle, making his broken vehicle my problem.auth
