He charged for work he never performed. $400 for repairing two gates which only one was bad needs to be replaced. Gates have over a 4"gap and the latch won't reach. There's a lot more but this guy owes me $400 for charging me for something he never touched plus he way overcharged for materials. His work is nothing to brag about. He said he could replace the gate for $385 and wouldn't charge labor,charged me $85 for a bigger latch which I never got but I'd still have a big gap in the gate which I wanted fixed because of my dogs but even at that,I priced gates at various stores and they cost $185 tops,the latches are all under $30 ..this guy gouges on his materials! He has a $200 markup on a gate and $60 on a latch! Every piece he bought he has a markup nearly 100 if not more. He's a very dishonest business owner! Resolution Sought He owes me $400 for claiming he repaired my gates, $85 for a latch I never got and I believe he owes me for charging $250 for repairing a line pole apposed to $150 for replacing the same size line pole.

I am sorry that Mr Croston is unhappy. We sent him a written quote and performed ALL the work described in the quote. I disagree strongly about the assertions he has made in his complaint. When I wrote the quote I made mention of one gate possibly needing to be replaced and it was somewhat ambiguous on my part. I told him, in writing, that if he would buy the gate ($79) I would send one of my skilled guys to install at no cost. I did ask him to pay $25 an hour to my installer. The job would take an hour or two. Other than this, I anticipate seeing him in court.
