Horrible Company ever!
I was mislead by a Vivint Sales Rep for obtaining a Home Security System. He did not advise me of a line of credit for the equipment. I was under the impression that there was one bill for all the services I requested. That was not the case. I have been paying for the Vivint Alarm Services on time but was not aware of the other bill for the equipment. My Credit score was a 690 in April and by July it went down to a 576, just for missing two payments towards Fortiva in which I had no idea the bill even existed. Fortiva has decided to close my account and is asking for a 70% percent payment towards the remaining balance of the loan. I literally had no idea that there was a line of credit taken out on my credit history. I was completely unaware of that matter. I feel the Sales person who came to my home, used harsh and avoidance tactics when asking questions in how I was going to be billed for the service. I advised him that I do not want to sign up with I have to pay for two separates bills. The sales person said No, that is now how we set you up for services. He stated that he would make sure that he would advise billing to send me one bill for the service. In the start of May of 2024, I started to make payments towards my Vivint Alarm system, thinking that I was also paying towards the service for both the equipment and the service of Vivint. As I mentioned before that was not the case. I was never was given a phone call about the past due balance and as well the emails the stated they sent was forwarded to my spam mail in my inbox. I as well never received a letter until I started to make a complaint towards Fortiva. Not one single letter until about the middle of August, about how Fortiva has decided to close my account. From my understanding, there are numerous complaints with the BBB, as well on other forums about Vivint and Fortiva doing the same thing to other consumers. It is not fair. I have worked very hard to increase my credit score over the past 3 years. For it to be deemed by almost a 100 points for two late payments is outrageous and ridiculous. If my credit history were to be pulled, it would show that all my open accounts have been paid 100 percent on time and no late payments towards any account that I have open. An investigation needs to be done on this situation and to remedy my credit score that I have worked so hard on.
