Company Response

Mrs. Swiney's double wide home was relocated from Hwy *** to Cinnamon Lane, in Louisiana, per her request and agreed on, per our written and verbal agreement. The job was stopped when Mrs. Swiney insisted on placing the home where the home could not be placed which was under power lines due to easements, which a SWEPCO representative confirmed after further investigation. We suggested two options; 1st option was to move the service power line and the second option, we suggested was to pull the home up and back from the location she desired. She wanted to do the second option, but that would put a large tree at the front door of the home. At that point we were waiting on Mrs. Swiney to inform us that the tree had been cut and removed. I have spoken to Mrs. Swiney twice since the home was spotted, (placed on location), and we have sent people by to check on the home and the tree had not been removed. Last I was told Mrs. Swiney wanted to cut the tree before we move the house forward and set it, but she said she didn't have the money to pay the tree man. Our verbal and written agreement states that any extra work which includes use of heavy equipment costs extra from the original quote. Extra work on this job included the cost of welding hitches onto the mobile home because they were none. Also, the use of a trans-lift machine which is heavy equipment to move the home across the large ditch on Hwy 527 was extra work. Also matting of the home on location was extra work. The $2,300 she is talking about is to cover the cost of the installation of two hitches, crossing the ditch, and matting to get the home off and on both locations. The home still has all Foster Home's axles and tires on the home because we intended to pull the home forward and set it up, but have not received a call from the customer that her tree had been removed. The value on our axles and tires, currently on her home is $3,000. She also said to me, " that was fine with the additional cost, just get the home moved, we have the money". If Mrs. Swiney wants to set the home up in a legal, proper location, we can gladly come to an agreement. The above is the exact response given to Ms. Jane Sears of the Better Business Bureau "BBB" on 4-7- 2022. And on 5-18-22 we received notice from the BBB stating, "Your company has made an effort in an attempt to resolve this issue; therefore we are closing the case at this time." Signed by Tim Shane, President and CEO of the Shreveport BBB. Page 2 of 2 Since then, on May 7, 2022, I went by to assess and the tree is still there, the power lines are still there and the ground was still very wet. June 4, 2022 I called to see if the tree had been removed or the pad was created, neither was done. On June 10, 2022, I called and told her all of this again and again suggested the mobile home be pulled up and over to a dry, higher location that was not under/near the tree or the powerlines. She would not hear anything I said, and she proceeded to yell at me to the point I could no longer understand her and I ended the call. The week of June 15th, I sent Gerald with G&G, with special moving & spotting equipment, to assess the location, in an attempt to relocate the home on her property as requested, finish the move, and retrieve our property, the wheels and axels valued at approximately $3,000. She ran the crew off saying that her attorney would deal with this. Again, we cannot not do anything until the water in the area dries, (it is raw sewage apparently from adjacent mobile homes) as well and the land is low and water accumulates easily under the home in the current location. We do not recommend the location where she wants the home to be set up. IF she does want it placed there, more dirt work and house pad will have to be done first, then the home can be blocked and leveled properly. Site reparation is never included in moves and is never our responsibility. We've offered before to set it elsewhere on this property, but not before a waiver is signed and another $1,250 is paid upfront. Unless Mrs. Swiney makes an effort to resolve the issues of the pad, powerlines and the tree……..we cannot move forward. Which is what I have told her each time we've spoke. She has been combative and belligerent to me as well as our associates this entire process which is not necessary to resolve her concerns.
