On 03/31/2024, my fiancé and I traded in our old car for a new one. We were offered three deals, and we declined two because we specifically did not want negative equity rolled over. After we left, the GM came over and offered us a deal, saying that he would pay off the car off at $29k and sell us the new vehicle at MSRP which was $36816.00. We agreed and moved forward with the deal. When I signed paperwork, I had my 8 month old baby in my arms while signing documents. I was told what I was signing, but it wasn't disclosed to me that the negative equity would be rolled over to the new loan. The finance representative was telling me throughout the process we are paying your car off. We didn't realize this until my fiancé needed information about who finance the car in order to purchase car insurance. At that point, we realized that we had been misled and scammed into signing a contract without knowing that the finance department would roll over our negative equity to the new loan which was $4515.84. Our vulnerability was exploited by this dealership because they knew we were just trying to leave since we had already been there for several hours with our baby. They did not fully disclose all the information they promised which to me is a fraudulent practice on their behalf. When it came to buying additional coverage to the car the finance representative mentioned the car had a negative equity. My fiancé stated that there should not be negative equity on the car since you are p Resolution Sought All I want is for them to pay 4515.84 towards my vehicle.
