Not happy with GEHA

I am a Federal annuitant with GEHA dental insurance. On September 3, 2025 my dentist submitted a predetermination to GEHA for six crowns that I need. Today is December 9, 2025 and I am still waiting for a determination from GEHA. They have been slow to respond in the past but three months seems unreasonable for a predetermination. Their website continues to say that the claim is "in process." I called GEHA for an update and was told that sometimes an outside reviewer is involved and it could take six months or more. I am totally disappointed that this insurer is still on the Federal list of options. This is the first of my complaints about GEHA and will be looking to report to other entities, as well as to OPM recommending that GEHA be removed as a Federal provider.

claim denied because of "uncertain prognosis" for a root canal

Denial of claims for a root canal due to "uncertain prognosis". If uncertain prognosis is a criterion than all claims in dental and medical care will be denied. Shameful! I will fight this in court if GEHA does not reverse its decision.
