Dispute Over Unfair Total Loss Determination – GEICO Claim #8853052550000001 Complaint: I am filing this complaint regarding how GEICO has handled my auto insurance claim for my 2016 Mercedes-Benz E350, involved in a minor curb collision. GEICO declared my vehicle a total loss despite clear evidence that the car is structurally sound and repairable. Key facts:     •    The certified body shop (Center Square Motors) performed a full teardown and submitted a supplemental repair estimate to GEICO, confirming the vehicle is repairable. A professional shop would not proceed this far unless they determined the car was safe to restore.     •    GEICO's original vehicle valuation was $13,412, but after I disputed it, they raised it to $18,284.02 — a 36 increase, highlighting the inaccuracy of their original assessment.     •    The shop's repair estimate is $12,000–$12,500, making the cost approximately 68 of the updated value — well below the typical 70–80 industry threshold for determining a total loss.     •    Importantly, in Pennsylvania there is no strict legal cutoff or fixed percentage that mandates when a vehicle must be totaled. GEICO's decision appears discretionary, not legally required, and ignores both economic logic and fairness.     •    The vehicle is still financed, I continue to make payments, and there was no airbag deployment. Forcing a total loss in this situation would create significant and unnecessary financial hardship. Resolution Sought I respectfully request that GEICO authorize repair of the vehicle based on their own updated valuation and the certified shop's findings. Their current stance contradicts both facts and fairness and leaves me with an unjust outcome for a repairable vehicle.
