This Complaint is for Germania Well Drilling located at 1720 Kellysburg RD, Trout Run PA 17771, Phone: 570-995-9318. Germania drilled our well in December 2021. When the drilling was completed, we were told to flush the lines and told NOT to shock it. We were told if we shocked it our plumbing would turn orange. It's a seasonal home. We came back this Summer and had the water tested by Fairway Labs. It came back 3.2 for total coliform. We called the driller( who never gave us his full name or contract) to ask what we should do since our research said to have the driller or well expert sanitize the well. He finally returned the 3rd call, each a day apart. He said he told us to put 1/2 gallon of Clorox in it last year, and not to call him again that it wasn't his problem. In order to properly shock the well we need to know how deep it is, how deep the standing water is, and the flow rate if we want to use a sanitizer system. After learning we needed this information, we called Germania to ask these questions. We have not received a call back. In addition, our research shows there are standard procedures that were not completed. The well cap is, not a sanitary sealed cap. The wiring to the submerged pump is exposed, and the conduit it's in, is open at the top. We did not receive a driller 's log showing the well depth, aquifer source, standing water depth, or flow rate. The well was not shocked prior to installing or after installing the cap. Our well is unusable. Resolution Sought 1)/Provide standard well driller specifications including, but not limited to, depth of well, depth of standing water, flow rate, and, aquifer source 2) Install sealed conduit for submerged pump wiring to new sanitary vented well cap 3) Add well specific shock product according to shock kit instructions 4)Install new sanitary vented well cap 5)Owner shall not be billed for parts or labor 6) Corrections completed by August 15 to allow time to re- test prior to departure of owner
