On December 29th, 2023, I had a reservation of 15 people for dinner Giumarello's. Three days before, I called Giumarello's to book our reservation and booked this with the manager, Frank. When Frank and I spoke, he said I needed to place a 100$ deposit to secure our party because it was a group over 10 people. The deposit was placed, we finished our dinner. Our waiter, Patrick dropped the check first a guest at dinner and the person whom the dinner was for. Patrick went over the check with that guest and said "I did not add gratuity and I will refund the 100$ deposit back to the card it was placed on." The check was then handed to me, I reviewed the check, paid the entire balance of 1,827$ on a credit card. I did not leave any tip on my Discover credit card. I signed the receipt for 1,827$. We left a 420.00$ tip in cash. While walking out of the, we handed the check book physically to Patrick with the cash inside. Five days passes and the 100.00$ despot is not back onto my card. I call the restaurant, ask to speak with Frank. Frank said that I was never getting the deposit of 100$ back, that it was placed on the check and that I left a tip of 142$ on the credit card. After hanging up and realizing minutes later that was not the case, I quickly called Frank back that same day. Frank said that I did not tip 20 and Patrick went and put a tip on my credit card that I did not sign for 142$. The management has not returned any of my phone calls. Resolution Sought I would like a refund for the entire bill I paid 1,969$, and the 141$ tip Patrick put on my credit card without my giving permission too do, signing my signature on a check I did not sign and for adding additional gratuity onto a check that I did not sign for prior to our party. I would like the 100$ deposit that I was told would be refunded back to me.
